**Field Service Engineer**

We're seeking a dedicated and skilled **Field Service Engineer** to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our systems onboard large ocean-going vessels.

**Position Overview**

The **Field Service Engineer** will:

- Install, modify, commission, repair, and maintain power automation systems, including motors, electrical switchgear, switchboards, electronic controllers, PLCs, and computer systems.
- Assist customers in the operation of these systems.
- Collaborate with manufacturers, customers, vendors, and service partners to ensure optimal equipment performance.

This hands-on role requires a diverse skill set in value engineering, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement in a dynamic marine environment.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Facilitate communication among all stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Perform maintenance tasks, including field installation, validation, and testing of electronic, electrical, and mechanical components.
- Diagnose issues by observing operations, utilizing tools such as electrical meters, PLCs, calibration equipment, and safety-related control systems.
- Dismantle and repair defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
- Ensure workplace safety and cleanliness by adhering to company protocols and regulations.

**Requirements Education and Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

**Skills and Competencies**
- Comprehensive knowledge of low-voltage, line-voltage AC/DC systems, and relays. High-voltage experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to prepare reports and present information effectively.
- Proficiency in PLC programming, Ethernet/Serial communication, and automation systems.
- Mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of hydraulics and machine repair.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other technical software.
- Physical capability to operate machinery, climb ladders, lift 40+ lbs, and work in varied conditions.

**Additional Requirements**
- Fluent Spanish
- Fluent English

**Working Conditions**

Work environments include marine and industrial settings, requiring adherence to strict safety protocols. Employees must wear protective gear such as safety glasses, hard hats, steel-toe boots, and vests.
