We are looking for a **Senior Backend Engineer** to join our Customer Growth team.
The Customer Growth Team is responsible for mission-critical product areas, ensuring customers have reliable access and managing their purchasing and payment experiences. They also own the integrations between our products and internal sales, marketing, and finance tools to keep all information synced and reliable.
**In this role you will be...**
- **Guiding customers across their journey with Supermetrics**: from trialing the product to the first purchase and supporting them further.
- **Working on our purchasing flows** to showcase the value of the product, improve conversion rates, grow ARR, and improve customer stickiness.
- **Improving the subscription management system** - allowing customers to adjust their subscriptions along the journey with Supermetrics to best fit their needs.
- **Working on the licensing system** in the heart of the product, used by tens of thousands of customers running millions of queries daily.
**Your day-to-day work and responsibilities include...**
- Delivering new features to improve the user purchasing experience and streamline our internal reporting.
- Leading and planning new initiatives and features.
- Participating in code reviews to maintain code quality standards.
- Working on company-wide initiatives and features.
- Close collaboration and interaction with other engineers and departments (including Finance, Sales, Customer Success, and Customer Support).
- Debugging and fixing issues.
- Supporting and sharing knowledge with your colleagues.
**Technologies you'll be using...**
- PHP 8
- MySQL 8

- GCP / AWS Clouds and derived services, e.g., Google Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage Bucket, etc.

**This role is for you if you have**:
- 5+ years of commercial back-end experience (PHP), preferably building a SaaS product.
- Ability to design, architect, and build a feature from scratch.
- Ability to conduct unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
- Strong understanding of architecture & software design.
- Strong grasp of the software testing discipline.
- Understanding of security best practices.
- Experience collaborating directly with product teams and designers.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills; fluent in English is a must.
- Ability to give effective feedback.
**Nice to have skills**:
- Former exposure to billing and purchasing.
- Interest in how to leverage AI to optimize development and other everyday tasks.
