**Job Title**: Lead Backend Software Engineer (Databricks & Airflow)

**Rate**: €450-€550 per day

**Contract**: Initial 3-month contract (possibility to extend)

**Location**: Fully Remote

**Working Hours**: Must be available 4-8 PM UK time (flexible working hours)

**About the Role**

We are looking for a **Lead Backend Software Engineer** with expertise in **Databricks** and **Airflow** to work on a meaningful project with a nonprofit organization. The organization is committed to making government and public policy data accessible, transparent, and easy to understand for users.

**Responsibilities**
- Participate in architectural discussions and software development decisions.
- Translate functional requirements into technical requirements.
- Develop new features and improvements.
- Ensure adherence to best coding practices.
- Collaborate with the QA team to ensure a seamless release process.
- Take part in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous team improvements.

**Requirements**:

- ** 7+ years** of experience as a software engineer.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams.
- Strong experience in **Databricks** and **Airflow**.
- Advocate for best practices in software development.

**Nice to Have**
- Experience with **Azure** and **Python**.
- Strong communication skills.
- Passion for learning new technologies and workflows.

**Communication & Collaboration**
- ** English proficiency (B2 or higher)** in written and spoken communication (working with an American client).
- Ability to discuss technical challenges, review proposals, and proactively address roadblocks.
