Summary
As an Actuarial Senior Analyst, you will work in our Reserving team focused on developing and delivering Reserve results for Cigna’s European business. As a nearly or recently qualified actuary in the team, you will be responsible for several areas of reporting work, from Sol II valuations, Belgium GAAP, US GAAP, Experience investigation and Basis setting for the group medical business. Working in this team gives an unique opportunity in gaining business insights across various geographical areas across the globe. You will work closely with various team within the organisation from Actuarial pricing, Risk management, Underwriting, Accounting, IT, and will have exposure to senior leadership teams. This role will help you increase your knowledge and sharpen your actuarial skills.
You will contribute to varied and interesting improvement projects such as:
Automation of the Reserving process
Systems and Process improvement
The role
Technical review of all major actuarial work and deliveries - Sol II reporting, and other metrics
Using independent judgment and discretion, calculates estimates of reserves required for unpaid claim liability.
Prepare actuarial analyses claim reserve, estimates for financial reporting, and monitoring. Preparing drafts of reports and able to explain results appropriately
Deliver results as per the agreed Reporting timetables - Monthly, Quarterly, Annual, and Off-cycle.
Lead process and system improvement projects. Proactively seek and drive the improvements in the process.
Provides consultation and clarification on actuarial models and risk issues for key accounts. Has thorough knowledge of actuarial statistics and assumptions used for modelling cost, risk and revenue trends.
The Requirements
Strong technical skills and delivery focused.
Prior knowledge and experience in Solvency II reporting (Health or General Insurance)
Experience in automating complex tasks in SAS, R, Alteryx, or other programming languages
Detail-oriented and good organisation skills, with the ability to work independently
Strong written and oral communication skills
A willingness to learn and develop within this team
Various locations available - Glasgow, work from home (UK, Spain, Belgium)
