**ARQUIMEA Research Center (ARC)**,** part of **ARQUIMEA** **,** was born in 2019 with the aim of inventing the technologies of tomorrow. We focus on Deep Tech solutions with a very high impact on the markets and/or future global challenges. We rely on a product-oriented strategy, market diversification and internationalization to achieve a sustainable growth with the aim of creating the technology of tomorrow. Our projects arise from the convergence of exponential technologies or Deep Tech**:Nanotechnology and Materials, Sensors, Drones & Robotics, Biotechnology & Genetics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Quantum Technologies, Networks & Security, Digital Manufacturing.**

**Tasks to be performed**:

- Design, build, and optimize experimental setups within an R&D Photonics laboratory setting.
- Project proposal preparation, including excellence, impact, planning, task estimation, peer review and writing.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in the field of Photonics, Quantum Sensing and Quantum Information Processing.
- **Ph.D. in Physics, **Electrical Engineering, or related field with a specialization in Photonics and/or Quantum Technologies.
- **Strong background** in optoelectronic instrumentation with proven hands-on experience in designing and building experimental setups.
- Familiarity and interest in prevailing trends in the **Photonic Integrated Circuit** industry and various technology platforms (such as SOI, SiN, PLC, InP, and hybrids).
- Proven expertise in experimental **photonic sensors** (experience in quantum sensing experiments using NV centers is highly valued).
- **Curiosity and bold attitude** to venturing into novel R&D domains and embracing state-of-the-art technologies.
- Strong proficiency in **English**.
