**FUNCTIONS**:
Our client, a Fortune 200 global multi-industrial manufacturing leading supplier of plastic-based multi-packaging systems is searching a Health and Safety Coordinator.
The HS coordinator is responsible of identifying, promoting, coordinating, and driving improvement of health and safety measures ensuring their implementation and compliance with the legal regulations the Plant, including Operations, Offices and Technical Service areas. She/he will also provide support in the supervision of H&S measures in other plants worldwide.
The HS coordinator will work together with external prevention services and will belong to Company's Own’s prevention services.
Primary Responsibilities
- Driving HS compliance with local and EU legislation
- in particular to see CE compliance (RD1215-97)
- Ensuring document and record-keeping tracking and governance, to ensure an accurate and timely response to any possible request from insurers or solicitors.
- Create/maintain appropriate KPIs to monitor and improve Health and Safety performances
- Support the HS auditing process, both internal and from third parties.
- Develop HS Policies for the effective fulfillment of the established objectives.
- Lead a proactive approach to accident prevention.
- Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
- Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
- Providing authoritative advice and guidance on health & safety matters to all stakeholders within designated area of responsibility.
- Be the connection with external HS consultants to harmonize their action with the real needs of the site.
- Be the local HS representative of Company Spain Own’s prevention services.
- Support the Plant manager/Operations manager in prioritizing actions to promote Health & Safety
- Work together with Group safety committee in the implementation of HS actions.
- Carry out health surveillance examinations, preparing reports and forms, as well as organizing and keeping up to date clinical records and other information relating to the worker
Job Requirements
- Level of education required by local legislation to perform HS position (Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales).
- Bachelor’s degree in related field is a plus.
- 3-5 years’ work-related experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Experience in H&S (ISO 45001 - OSHA 180001)
- An in-depth understanding of essential/relevant Spain/European H&S legislation.
- Excellent communication skills, both in verbal daily interaction with employees at all levels and in presentations to wider audience.
- Analytic approach oriented to problem solving.
- Fluent English and Spanish language
- Teamwork attitude and People oriented mindset
- Travel availability (20%)
