Senior Procurement Manager

Job Characteristics:Drives the strategy and process development for procurement of direct materials, equipment or indirect services through the development of strategic business relationships domestically and/or internationally. In collaboration with manufacturing; logistics, research & development and business units, this take charge leader will lead the step change improvement of world class sourcing in order to deliver incremental total delivered cost efficiency, security of supply, supplier innovation and process improvements. This role will effectively institutionalize process developments through integrating best practices across multiple functions and strategic sourcing teams.

Education/Work Experience:Degree in Engineering related discipline, chemistry, or related business degree and ten or more years of purchasing experience, a knowledge of production control and planning and supervisory experience in a related manufacturing environment.

Independence Level/Reports to:Responsible for selecting suppliers and negotiating over $250 million per year in purchases. Keeps apprised of the activities that affect each commodity such as rate of inflation, government regulations, the export/import market, and labor trends. Selects, trains, motivates, promotes, and disciplines staff based on company policy. Normally reports to Plant Manager in a plant location or Procurement Vice President in the headquarters location.

**What You Will Do**:

- Lead all negotiations & strategy development for raw materials for multiple global sites.
- Manage the purchases of all third-party resins for Purolite and lead strategy development and project management in this area for the company.
- Act as the liaison between Ecolab and Purolite Procurement globally to facilitate synergy projects and collaborations.
- Ensure accurate buying cost to achieve global cost saving targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Contract management, review and ensure contracts are in place to protect Purolite business operations and engagements.
- Responsible for total delivered cost (TDC), security of supply and compliance, for raw materials in plants of responsibility.
- Market intelligence. Prepare procurement reports (global macro-economic factors including global raw material costs, labor cost, transportation cost and foreign exchange) and provide price forecasts on key raw materials to the global team.
- Lead the dual sourcing project to eliminate single and sole sources for raw materials and drive the approvals at all Purolite plants in line with annual targets.
- Support project on payment term extensions to achieve working capital improvement goals.
- Support to drive global project/initiatives to support process improvements & team development in the raw material space.
- Work within confidential environment as it relates to company policies, production procedures and technical specifications.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 5 years of procurement and/or commercial experience
- Experience in chemical procurement category management
- Experience in chemical sourcing
- Prior chemical industry experience

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience working for a medium to large multinational company
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry and/or MBA
- Prior indirect procurement and/or buying experience
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
