Founded in 1971 and opened as a family-oriented British School, it was one of the first of its kind in Madrid. Today the school has grown to over 1300 students and is based on six sites in central Madrid.

We are looking for a **temporary** Primary Teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning and is excited to join one of the best international schools in an amazing city in Spain.

Some of the tasks, but not limited:
**1. Planning, Teaching and Class Management**
- To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils, incorporating the National Curriculum requirements and in line with the curriculum policies of the school.
- To plan work, differentiated where appropriate, to meet the needs of individuals and groups so as to ensure continuity, progression and quality of learning.
- To use a variety of teaching and learning approaches and to communicate clearly objectives, expectations, and success criteria
- To create a purposeful learning environment and educational experiences which provide pupils with the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
- To maintain an orderly working environment.
- To direct the work of Teaching Assistants and/or Support Teachers as appropriate.

**2. Monitoring and evaluating**
- To monitor and assess pupils’ learning in your classroom in order to inform future

learning.
- To keep effective records of pupils’ progress and to report on achievement in line

with school policy.
- To help evaluate the quality of teaching and learning to help develop effective assessment strategies.
- To provide records, information, reports as required by the school including accurate attendance.

**3. Other responsibilities**
- To participate in the school’s staff development programme.
- To engage actively with the school’s performance management programme.
- To work as a member of a team, positively contributing to effective working relations within the school.
- To attend open evenings and meet with parents.
- To attend morning briefing.
- To actively support and contribute to the school’s responsibility for safeguarding.

**Profile**:

- University graduate and relevant teaching degree.
- Some experience in the UK would be useful but not essential.
- Ability to teach Y1 to Y6 a distinct advantage.
- English
- A curiosity towards and natural tolerance of lifestyles and languages different to your own is essential.
