**DESCRIPTION**:
We are seeking an indirect tax expert with experience in Europe and North America to join our Global Tax Calculation Services team based in Barcelona. The Global Tax Calculation Services team is responsible for providing end-to-end global indirect tax calculation solutions (sales and use taxes, value-added taxes, good and services taxes, and other consumption taxes).

The individual in this role will work on indirect tax product and services taxability research, monitoring indirect tax legislation changes and latest rulings, providing technical advice to ensure the tax calculation platform is in continued compliance with global indirect tax laws. This position will work closely with local business partners, operations team and members of the tax department providing guidance and support to Global Product Classification.

This position will support internal and external audits on catalogue indirect tax rate accuracy and compliance impact. The role requires fluent communication with Product Classification Specialists to provide support on their specific needs to be incorporated into the technical solutions.

This position is office-based

Key job responsibilities
- Supporting and maintaining local and global indirect tax rates content
- Providing support to the end-to-end Global transaction tax calculation solutions for a broad array of products and services
- Supporting internal and external Audits
- Providing technical advice on VAT rates applicable to Amazon’s catalogue on the VAT rates applicable to Amazon's catalogue based on the research of tax laws, regulations and jurisdiction changes
- Supporting local business partners and tax department members with decisions on product taxability matters
- Participating in team operational excellence programs and process improvements
- Actively participate in selected projects throughout their life-cycle

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
- 3+ years of Indirect Tax Experience working in advisory firm or multinational tax department
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Experience maintaining and operating transaction tax calculation software (e.g. Vertex)
- Proficiency in other languages would be an advantage
