Customs Operations Manager

Job responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day import and export activities of CaiNiao, engaging with internal logistics and compliance teams in Europe and overseas, customs brokers, customs authorities, consulting companies, 4PL partners and own CaiNiao’ s smart sorting centers across Europe.
- Work cooperatively and proactively with senior functional leaders across the supply chain to determine the regional import and export requirements for all new projects and new business initiatives while proactively addressing customs and trade compliance regulatory changes affecting CaiNiao supply chain.
- Support the global customs operations team by communicating to additional information requests by the Customs authorities, overseeing customs inspection process in our sorting centres and ensuring custom clearance is done timely.
- Support contract negotiation for CaiNiao partners and implementation by assessing regular KPI performance and being the connector of the business needs and the IT solution for current and new CaiNiao partners to aim for full digitalization of the customs clearance process.
- Lead efforts to implement workflow automation to eliminate manual or repetitive tasks that can benefit CaiNiao and our partner.
- Manage the internal audit program for CaiNiao to ensure declarations are compliant with the customs regulations for B2C and B2B transactions.
- Manage current and new country customs licenses.

Job requirements:
- Degree in Customs, International Trade, or Business.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience as an importer and exporter (self-declarant), Customs broker, or in a similar industry position dealing with trade compliance, transit declarations, temporary storage warehouse, bonded warehouse and other customs matters.
- Customs broker license approved by Spain customs authority is a strong plus.
- Extensive (practical) experience with EU Customs regulations.
- Experience (practical) with the customs clearance process and customs bonded warehouse and temporary storage handling of e-commerce low value shipments is a strong plus.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
- Experience in Project management and IT related project experience preferred.
- Effective influencing, communications skills and strong stakeholder management skills.
