Lead Engineer, Scheduling

**Job Description Summary**: The role of Lead Engineer, Scheduling (Scheduling Lead) is part of the EPM (Engineering Program Management) team within the Offshore Wind Engineering organization and integral owner of the Engineering Scheduling process and related tools. The role reports to the EPM Manager and provides technical leadership to the team of schedulers within the EPM team and partners with other scheduling stakeholders within the Offshore Wind Engineering organization.

The Scheduling Lead owns the Primavera P6 instance, is responsible for implementing and improving scheduling processes and maintains and improves programs´ scheduling quality, by implementing continuous improvement and lessons learned, not only from within the EPM team, but also from the broader Engineering organization. The Scheduling Lead ensures that the Engineering organization is well trained on the resulting process and tools.

The Scheduling Lead will work closely with the Engineering Operations team to ensure the right scheduling data is used for the multiple metrics used by the engineering population and will define and contribute to the definition of those metrics.

The Scheduling Lead contributes from scheduling perspective to the Program management tools and process improvement plans (related to Budget Management, Risk Management, Scope management etc.) that are developed by the Program Management and Engineering Operations teams.

**Roles and Responsibilities**

In your role as Scheduling Lead, you will be integrally responsible for the scheduling quality and -effectiveness of the Offshore Wind Engineering organization. To meet these objectives, you will:

- Own the Primavera P6 instance and be the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) within the Engineering Organization and interface directly with the Primavera P6 IT team
- Provide technical direction to the engineering Schedulers on Primavera usage, scheduling methodologies and best practices
- Drive a LEAN “daily management” operating rhythm with the team of schedulers to ensure assigned activities are done on time and at the right quality
- Work hand in hand with the Engineering Operations team to ensure schedules in P6 are set up aligned with engineering data input needs
- Define Scheduling tools & -process roadmap by gathering inputs and lead subsequent tools & process improvements
- Provide (regular) training to schedulers and other planning stakeholders in the broader Engineering Organization
- Provide transparent status and -reporting through clear visual dashboards to management and the EPM team on regular basis related to metrics around schedule maturity / implementation status and other related process metrics
- Drive for a clear continuous improvement culture: Share lessons-learned with other colleagues and initiate mitigation actions based on problem solving around KPI trends

**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or equivalent
- Expert knowledge of Primavera P6 and P6 EPPM
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Scheduling and in project management in an engineering environment
- Experience with and track record of implementation of tools and methods in an engineering environment related to scheduling & resource management
- Advanced level of Technical-Business English, both verbally and in writing.
- Good communication, interpersonal, leadership, influencing and presentation skills, including ability to work across cultural boundaries in a global team

- Diligent record keeping, acute attention to detail, while keeping an eye on the big picture.
- General PC proficiency (Microsoft Office); deep Microsoft Excel proficiency

- Strong technical aptitude, including project management and applicable engineering tools and systems
- Organizational and documentation skills (keep track of multiple issue statuses and remaining actions to drive to closure)
- Comfortable working in a matrix structure.
