The Group Regional Controlling team works with market finance teams to ensure accuracy of finance numbers across all of Adevinta’s market segments. The team collaborates with external auditors on market specific audit queries and challenges, and interprets financials into meaningful insights for senior management.

**Job Description**:
M&A Tax Expert who will have primary responsibility for leading M&A processes across multiple jurisdictions from a tax perspective. A key part of this role will be ensuring appropriate risk management in line with tax strategies and liaising with third party advisors in respect of tax due diligence and structuring. The M&A Tax Manager will report into the Head of Tax and covers a global scope.

**You will**:

- Primary responsibility for leading M&A processes across multiple jurisdictions from a tax perspective and for ensuring appropriate risk management in line with tax strategies;
- Lead the execution of tax participation in M&A activity incl. mergers, acquisitions, divestures, joint ventures and other business transactions;
- Lead on the execution of transactions including fund flow reviews;
- Liaise with legal counsel and undertake legal document reviews from a tax perspective;
- Lead the deal lifecycle from inception to execution and post-transaction restructuring;
- Liaise with the wider business on post-acquisition integration activities including restructuring and rationalisations;
- Engage and work alongside third party advisors to drive tax due diligence and structuring activities;
- Liaise with wider investment management teams to ensure tax workstreams are aligned with the wider investment process;
- Communicate complicated transactional tax issues to the wider business and senior stakeholders in terms of impact on the business;
- Actively advise the organisation on tax implications, tax risks and opportunities related to business change as a result of M&A activities;
- Ensure the tax affairs of target companies are aligned with wider commercial and business strategies;
- Lead tax input into the financial modelling of transactions;
- Remain cognisant of non-tax transaction structuring issues e.g. accounting and legal.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelors Degree
- Chartered Tax Advisor or Chartered Accountant preferred
- Strong track record of leading M&A processes in an equivalent tax role;
- Ability to work proactively and independently under tight time frames in a fast-paced environment;
- Experience working with third party advisors, legal counsel and wider investment management teams;
- The ability to communicate complex transactional tax issues to senior non-tax stakeholders;
- Experience managing risk and ensuring M&A processes are in line with tax strategies;
- Superb technical understanding of key M&A tax concepts combined with a pragmatic commercially-oriented approach;
- Strong knowledge and experience of typical transaction structures across multiple jurisdictions e.g. Europe;
- Strong analytical capabilities and judgment;
- Google suite capabilities
- Fluent English is essential, while additional languages are an advantage (French and Spanish in particular)
