Supervisor R&d Product Engineering Industrial

Role Summary:
The Supervisor of Product Engineering, Industrial Products, is responsible for accelerating the development and implementation of new, leading edge product technology throughout the FPD product portfolio to provide a competitive advantage to the corporation. This includes the support of product development initiatives, product rationalization projects, and ATO/MTO product line maintenance. In addition, this position will coordinate closely with the engineering managers for the ATO/ETO business to prioritize work of his/her team in alignment with the business objectives and strategic campaigns of the operations. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining resources with the capacity and capability to support the business as design authority for Industrial product portfolio.

Principal Accountabilities:
Manage and lead a global team of 6 to 10 engineering specialists

Oversee and monitor the execution of product development projects approved and authorized by leadership, to ensure that the projects are executed in a professional manner to meet the defined project objectives, and leverage the global capabilities/expertise of the company

Manage and prioritize the effective usage of dedicated GTEC engineers to support R&D, design change processes and drafting assignments from the FPD product engineering team for industrial products

Drive a culture based on the Flowserve Core Values and Behaviors

Provide technical and thought leadership to engineering staff and on a cross-functional basis

Drive product standardization and component rationalization and reuse

Provide personally and through team excellent responsive and customer-centric support to both internal and external customers

Reinforce the design authority role to drive centralization of product design engineering through clear definition and documentation of product design practices

Champion the implementation and adoption of standard engineering best practice tools and processes throughout the engineering team

Act as an effective change agent, driving adoption and long-term acceptance of target engineering transformations based on strategy, practices, procedures and systems

Principal Responsibilities:
Ensure product safety and regulatory compliance through implementation of rigorous design control procedures and protocols

Identify and develop specialist engineering skills within the Product Engineering team and oversee an effective process to ensure the effective utilization of these skills across the enterprise

Support the preparation and delivery of training programs and material as necessary for the deployment of newly developed or enhanced engineering tools, workflows, or procedures

Develop leadership and engineer talent through recruiting, development and programs aimed at engagement and retention.

**Requirements**:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical degree with a M.S. in Engineering or Engineering Management or similar technical masters preferred.

Minimum 5 years of industrial experience and preferred demonstrated experience in a supervisory position over technical staff within the rotating equipment industry.

Demonstrated ability to develop and manage strong team, customer, and internal relationships including a history of developing collaborative relationships.

Demonstrated ability to accomplish key results through influence.

Proven ability to adapt to changing organizational environment and business needs.

Demonstrated ability to work with geographically dispersed teams with culturally diverse membership

Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated commitment to staff development through mentoring and Coaching

Willingness to travel from base to Flowserve, and other constituent site locations with travel requirements of up to 30%
