The Azure Hardware Performance Architecture Team is seeking a Systems Performance Modeling & Analysis Engineer with experience in workload profiling, characterization and in-depth workload performance analysis, performance modeling, and proposing innovations in ISA, CPU core and SoC microarchitecture, novel memory hierarchy, accelerators, network, and overall system architecture.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and/or extend functional and timing models of complex SOCs and validate them against other models or hardware reference systems
- Understanding the operation of complex datacenter workloads
- Build internal tools, scripts, analysis methods, etc. as needed to carry out robust and automated performance analysis
- Utilize external and internal tools to characterize, profile and analyze key cloud workloads.
- Define the next generation computer architecture for the cloud at all levels of innovation to create a datacenter that is truly optimized (performance, power, and cost) for Azure’s cloud critical workloads.

**Qualifications**:

- B.S. in Computer Engineering or related field or equivalent experience (M.S. or Ph.D. desirable) with relevant years of experience
- Proficiency in computer/SoC architecture, micro-architecture, workload analysis, bottleneck analysis and performance trade-offs
- Functional or Timing Model development and analysis experience
- Excellent (written and verbal) communication and collaboration skills
- C/C++ & Python preferred programming skills
- Experience with using modern day software development techniques and workflows such as continuous integration and continuous delivery
