Medical Operations Manager

**Job Description**:
The Manager, Medical Operations will work closely with the medical team to align on strategic priorities at local and regional level. He/she will develop and implement cross-functional process owner networks, ensuring ownership and multi-layered accountability, and with partners in Commercial, Market Access, Public Affairs, Legal & Compliance to create firm linkages to essential functions.

The Manager Medical Operations will have **accountability** for the following:

- ** Business Planning**: Support the Annual Operating Planning, Medical Operations Reviews, and tracking/reporting to support a culture of performance and executional excellence.
- ** Medical Operations**: Support Medical Operations to include External Engagements/Congresses, Sponsorships, Grants/Corporate Giving, Medical Research IIT/Real-World Evidence, and Medical Information.
- ** Process Optimization**: Support programs focused on continuous process improvement, driving sustainable operational efficiencies, ensuring the effective use of systems/technologies and optimizing the organizational structure to advance Spanish Medical strategies in a compliant manner.
- ** Medical Governance**: Support the development and implementation of governance structure(s)/procedures that are aligned with the Worldwide Medical Value model and Biogen’s core values to support a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

**Primary Responsibilities**

**Business Planning**
- Support the Annual Operating Planning (AOP), Medical Performance Reports (MSL dashboards, KPIs, medical insights), to support a culture of performance and executional excellence.
- Support the Integrated Customer Plan Process (ICP) and Customer Engagement Plans definition for Medical organization.

**Medical Operations**
- Support the Medical Research Operations including Phase IV studies, Investigator Initiated Trials (IIT), Sponsored Research Agreements (SRA), and Real-World Evidence/patient registries.
- Directs the Grants, Corporate Giving, and Sponsorships function including governance and process management.
- Directs the External Engagements Operations including Congress readiness, and Thought Leader (TL)/Key Opinion Leader (KOL) management KPIs.
- Directs the Patient Service function including the Support Programs (PSP) governance and process management.
- Directs the Medical Information service according to country legislation and Biogen procedures.

**Process Optimization**
- Continually identifies and executes process improvements to enable business performance.
- Propose the development, implementation, and management of cross-functional process owner networks for Medical Operations.
- Manages updates of medical SOPs as needed. Guarantee that Global SOPs are localized or adapted to local regulatory and legal context.

**Medical Governance**
- Oversees the establishment of governance for the International Medical organization to support a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Oversees the development and implementation of structure and processes enabling audit readiness with affiliate Medical teams.
- Accountable for proactively identifying and mitigating quality risks within the affiliate.

**Qualifications**:

- 6+ years (preferred) of experience in focused on functional medical operations, process optimization/execution, systems implementation.
- Experience leading programs and initiatives in addition to driving quality and governance efforts across country.
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate at all levels in the organization.
- Ability to navigate in changing environment.
- Project management experience (ideally PMP); Six Sigma is a plus.

- Familiarity with biotechnology & pharmaceutical industry
- Process management: High level of planning and organizational skills; self starters that are capable of working effectively with limited oversight
