We are currently looking for a** Senior Data Engineer** for our partner, a dynamic start-up in the insurtech sector, with great growth potential. Based in Barcelona, with great offices in Pier 01, at Port Vell, surrounded by other dynamic start-up teams.

**Role**

As a Data Engineer in an insurtech, you will work with the Data Team to ensure and manage:

- **Mantain our modern data stack** (we use Airbyte, Airflow, dbt, BigQuery)
- **Automate data pipelines**
- Implement the extraction and transformation of new data sources
- Implement **Data Warehouse **Management best practices to organise company data effectively
- Implement** data quality frameworks**
- Help to foster data-driven culture at every level of the organization
- **Provide analytical, technical, and creative solutions **to different business, product, and operational challenges in the insurtech industry.
- **Data exploration and wrangling** for a variety of datasets coming from different contexts such as demographics, social science and consumer finance,

**We need**
- **4+ years working on a Data team**, experience in modeling risks and pricing in financial or insurance companies is a plus.
- **BS In Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Actuarial sciences.**:

- **SQL expert** with experience in data modelling tools and techniques
- Working experience with **python for ETL/ELT jobs**
- Experience with** task orchestration tools** (Airflow, Luigi)
- Experience with **Cloud Services** (GCP is a plus)
- Experience working with a** modern data warehouse** (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, etc.)
- Has experience working with importing and transformation of** data from third-party APIs**
- Experience working with** data build tool** (dbt)
- **Knowledge of software development** best practices (version control, CI/CD)
