**Technical Leader** plays a critical role in overseeing the success of a team of Managers who lead a team of Partner Technology Strategists and Cloud Solution Architects, working with partners to align their technology roadmaps with Microsoft's technology priorities working with them to build new solutions that enable customers to realize the vision of Digital Transformation.

The Technical Leader coaches, mentors, and onboards Technical Managers working these teams of technical strategists and architects delivering deep technical support through solution build and first mile customer engagements, such as Technology Briefings, Enablement Workshops, Proof of Concepts, Architectural Design Sessions (ADS), etc.

The
**Technical Leader** is a leader who stands out because of their insights, big ideas, and epiphanies on how to accelerate solution build and practice development to bring new solutions to market and win new customers. The Technical Leader and Managers of Partner Technology Strategists lead through the ‘Build-With’ stages of the Partner Lifecycle engaging with ISV, MSP, CD and SI’s.

**Responsibilities**:
Key Areas of Responsibility - What PTMs do:

- ** Coaching and Skilling.** Creates a culture of coaching the extended team; Invests time coaching using Growth Mindset and Role Excellence coaching tools to increase team’s skillsets; Supports management team on identifying skill needs and gaps across teams of Technical Specialists & Architects; builds hiring plans and development plans to upskill or cross-skill teams.
- ** Rewards & Recognition.** Recognizes and rewards managers that meet and exceed growth performance and development commitments.
- ** Partner and Industry Insights.** Understands market trends, market opportunities, compliance by reading, attending webinars, conferences delivered by Industry thought leaders such as Gartner, Forrester, IDC, and others; Supports management team in identifying and evaluating industry trends.
- ** Thought Leadership. **Supports management team in leading the broader technical teams around partner challenges; participates in external architect community events and shares learnings with management team; sets an example in demonstrating deep industry knowledge and driving recognition for Microsoft solutions and competitive strategies**.**:

- **Engagement Management and Execution Oversight.**

oLeads regular reviews of partner engagement delivery, costs, and resources, while championing ways to innovate, improve productivity, and expand the value of engagements.

oChecks-in on how strategic engagements are proceeding in alignment with partner strategic plans, ensuring accountabilities are clear and partner is realizing the expected value.

oLeading by example, coaches extended team of managers, strategists, and architects on best practices for delivery of engagements, such as Technical Briefings, Proof of Concepts, Architectural Design, Hackathons, demonstrating ways to increase value and impact.
- ** Trusted and Strategic technology Advisor. **Develops and expands existing impactful relationships with partners; creates and sustains constructive tension and trust with partner and leads the adoption of Microsoft architecture technologies; Invited to Join the Technology Advisory/Planning groups of top partners, contributing with insights that influence the technology roadmaps and investments towards Microsoft and away from key competitors.
- ** Partnership Building. **Presses teams to consider the important interdependencies of 3rd party solutions, and services, as well as P2P motions for better together strategies among different partners and partner types

**Qualifications**:

- **
10+ years** of related experience in technology solutions/practice development, consultative/complex technical sales, technical account management.
- ** Talent Attraction, Development & Retention. **Experience in workforce development and succession planning; Ability to identify growth opportunities, build development plans with management team, and conduct development discussions.
- ** Partner & Industry Insights. **Deep understanding of digital transformation business drivers, cloud platforms, emerging computing trends and their impact on partner practice building opportunities.
- ** Trusted Advisor.** Proven track record of building deep sales relationships with CXOs and practice building executives in ISV, MSP, CD and SIs.
- ** Thought Leadership.** Experience in providing guidance technical managers and partners on development of solutions/offers/practices by providing strategic input on Microsoft technologies and digital transformation, while addressing the competitive landscape.
- ** Differentiated Value Proposition.** Ability to motivate team to anticipate competitive technologies and industry trends to drive success; Experience in guiding teams in creating and maintaining a vision with business and technology solution scenarios and services.
