**Role purpose**

This role will form part of the ESG Team with specific responsibiltity for driving the structure, centralisation and governance of sustainability projects.

The key goal is to develop a structured, controlled and integrated approach to sustainability projects - ensuring that we embed our sustainability agenda across the business and that projects are delivered on time and on budget.

You will be responsible for stakeholder mapping, creating project plans, performance against project objectives & targets and centrally managing and co-ordinating actions and risks.

Accurate reporting of progress through reports, dashboards and stage reviews as appropriate.

Creating an effective engagement with colleagues from across the group will be pivotal, using their feedback and insights to inform the carbon reduction roadmap and the impact of projects on our ESG Strategy.

You will need to be a great communicator, enthusiastic, and passionate about delivering a transformative sustainability programme.

**Key accountabilities**
- Deliver structure and governance to ensure central control of project inputs and outputs
- Takes responsibility for the definition, documentation and successful completion of small / medium sized projects, directly contributing to the ESG strategy with limited complexity, directing and counselling project team members, and advising customers/stakeholders as necessary on all phases.
- Responsible for the creation of centralised approach to project management and create dashboards which provide an insight into performance against targets as well as improvement areas
- Develop material and run regular sessions for colleagues to communicate performance and the benefits for them and our customers of the sustainability projects
- Communicate with internal colleagues of all levels on progress against the project plans, including bi-weekly high level update (inc. budget) to Senior Sponsors
- Process mapping for any changes in process or create processes where there is a requirement
- Maintains effective financial and project progress forecasting, and reports as appropriate
- Monitors and controls allocated human and material resources, associated revenue costs and all capital costs against the project budget
- Ensures that a change control procedure is in place, and actively used to assess the effect of changes to the projects on costs, timescale and/or resource needs and reports these to project sponsors
- Ensures that projects are formally closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are captured and appropriate action taken. Produces appropriate documentation to support these processes
- Builds and manages a virtual team from various geographies and engages teams/contacts from across Colt and vendors as required
- Ensures all key PM documentation is developed and maintained, including PID/Project Brief, Project Plan, Risk and Issues register, weekly reports, stakeholder reports, Lessons learned etc. The project managed could be part of a larger program managed by a program manager and the documentation requirements would be customised as per the program requirements
- Work closely with the Programme Management Office to ensure that all current and future projects deliver the sustainability metrics required for transparent reporting

**Other accountabilities**

Stakeholder Management
- Establishing a single point of contact for the sponsor for the duration of the project and agreeing escalation paths for all stakeholders
- Managing all communication during the project life cycle ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the project
- Managing internal and external suppliers to deliver the project on time and within cost tolerances

Quality and Process
- Ensuring that all project documentation is maintained to a high standard and that all project deliverables meet the sponsor’s expectations of performance and quality.
- Ensuring that financial systems and project reporting tools are maintained to reflect the state of project progress.

- Experience of managing a project and/or programme at its strategy/development phase, where the outcomes and nature of the work are still being defined
- Experience of bringing projects in on budget and on time
- Hardworking, comfortable with data, Management Information reporting and managing projects
- Experience of shaping and structuring a project and/or programme and putting in place the appropriate tools to monitor and manage progress
