- Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Detection Engineer will:

- Prepare optical sensors requirement specifications according to system level needs.
- Provide technical support during detector procurement.
- Be responsible of detector trade-off activities.
- Prepare performance assessment and radiometric budgets.
- Write detector characterization test plans.
- Analyze characterization test results from detector supplier and from internal radiometric test campaigns at detector and focal plane levels.
- Support to video electronic development for the implementation of the electrical IF with the optical sensors (communication, operating modes, data output, etc ).
- Support to integration and manufacturing teams with handling and operation of the optical sensors (e.g. integration into focal plane and with front end-electronics).
- Have proactive mindset regarding detector technologies and state-of-the-art development by participating in workshops/conferences for opto-electronic devices.
- Training and Education:

- Engineering Master, preferably opto-electronics with solid background on opto-electronics physics. PhD in opto-electronics / photonics will be valued.
- Experience:

- Experience (minimum 5 years) on opto-electronics related activities, e.g. optical sensors technical specification, characterization, procurement, etc.
- Experience (minimum 5 years) on working with CCD/CMOS analog/digital optical sensors (space grade / commercial).
- Knowledge of CMOS sensor technology (manufacturing process, qualification/validation test campaigns, performance assessment, hand-on on CMOS sensor operation/tests, etc )
- Knowledge of data analyses software such as MATLAB/Simulink and programming experience (Python, C, data processing libraries, etc )
- Knowledge of opto-electronics detector test bench design and development
- Valued knowledge of understanding semiconductor device physics, including the ability to relate basic material and physical characteristics to optical sensor performance.
- Valued knowledge of effects of radiation on optical sensor EO performance
- Valued knowledge of design and simulation tools: OrCAD, Pspice, Mentor, etc
- Valued knowledge of analog/digital acquisition design
- Valued knowledge of space normative (ECSS) and electronics IFs standard.
- Valued knowledge of Standard for Characterization of Image Sensors and Cameras (EMVA Standard 1288)

- English essential, French would be a plus.
