**About UIC Barcelona** UIC Barcelona currently hosts approximately 8.000 students and offers 16-degree programs, 30 international double degrees, and a wide range of master’s and postgraduate degrees, as well as continuing education courses in various fields of knowledge. Since 1997, we have been teaching students based on academic rigour, vibrant university life, and enriching life experiences. The UIC Barcelona team consists of professionals who are highly qualified not only in teaching but also in research, management, administration, communication, services and systems. Beyond individual expertise, UIC Barcelona offers a young and dynamic working environment. **What we’re looking for** We are looking for a senior researcher to lead a research and teaching institute in bioethics or medical ethics. This is a new project at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. The director must have the broad vision to create the institute and from there, influence the world through research and teaching in bioethics. The institute will be independent to conduct research in the field and will be housed in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. It will be a multi-disciplinary institute that may have partnerships with all health sciences degrees on campus (medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, psychology, dentistry, bioengineering and biomedical sciences). As R2-R3 you will have the backing of the support program for the stabilization of postdoctoral research personnel of the Department of Research of the Universities of the Generalitat de Catalunya (ESTAB). - Develop educational programmes on bioethics for students (health science degree and master’s degree), health professionals, researchers and other actors. - Encourage multidisciplinary collaboration to address bioethical issues from different perspectives. - To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and critical analysis. - Establish alliances with other research institutes, universities and organisations to promote global ethics in the context of science and health. - To publish research on bioethical issues contributing to the academic body on ethical issues. - Promote ethics in science, emphasising the importance of integrating ethical principles into all phases of research and the development of new technologies. **We offer** - A full-time contract in a dynamic and international scientific environment at UIC (Health Science campus at Sant Cugat). - Senior lecturer or full professor position at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. - Possibility to teach bioethics in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. - Possibility of teaching on an official master's degree in palliative care or clinical research. - Possibility to work with researchers from clinical, palliative care and basic science research groups. - Possibility of having doctoral students from health sciences bachelors and masters °rees. - Possibility of working in a team with professionals from university health centres: CUIDES UIC Barcelona, University Hospital General de Catalunya, University Hospital of Granollers, Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa, Primary Care. **Requirements**: - Healthcare science degree. - Clinical experience. - PhD in Bioethics or Ethics. - Oral and written proficiency in English. - Fluency in Spanish. - Ability to work in a research team. **The following aspects will be looked upon favourably**: - Excellent track record of publications - Experience in participation in funded research projects - Proven research experience in ethics and bioethics - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. **How to apply**: - A cover letter with a statement of interest - A full CV, including contact details - A summary of the scientific impact and a publication list - At least two reference letters **Application deadline**:March 14, 2025.
