**Cancer Computational Biology Group**

The Cancer Computational Biology Group, headed by José A. Seoane, PhD leverages epi(genetic) cancer datasets to

unmask the molecular mechanisms implicated in cancer initiation, progression, drug resistance and metastasis toward

improved outcomes for patients.** **We are also exploring how the machine learning-based integration of multi-omic

datasets can facilitate the discovery of new cancer subgroups and biomarkers, as well as help to better predict

treatment outcomes and drug response.***

Master Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics or similar
- Specific training in Machine learning or Data science
- Fluency in English (business level)

Knowledge of main machine learning packages in R/Python
- Matlab
- Experience in the analysis of genomics, digital pathology, cancer, and/or epigenetics-related datasets is desired

**Main responsibilities and duties: -**

learning pipelines for multi-omic/WSI classification or clustering of cancer datasets.
- Testing of new algorithms, adapt previously developed algorithms
- Give support to the member of the lab in similar tasks
- Collaborate with other groups at VHIR and VHIO
