Deputy Campaign Lead, Southern Europe

Airbnb's public policy team exists to further the interests of our community of hosts and guests with politicians, regulators, opinion leaders and others who shape the political and legal context for our business, helping them to understand the significant social and economic contributions of our platform. Across the EMEA region, we are engaged in well over a hundred local conversations and negotiations with governments big and small. We engage governments at local, regional and national levels directly and also use innovative advocacy and partnership strategies that actively involve our community and our stakeholders in making the case for fair, progressive home sharing rules.

**The difference you will make**:
We are looking for an inspiring experienced Campaign strategist and Government affairs specialist to support the Campaign team covering Southern Europe countries, with a specific focus on our engagement in Spain.

This role is a key member of the Southern European team, helping to shape and execute programmes to engage with policy stakeholders, favorability campaigns and host engagement programs. The successful applicant will be working closely with other members of the Southern European teams based in Italy and Spain, ensuring cross functional and region wide projects are delivered.

In this role you must be highly skilled in Project management (definition of objectives, stakeholders coordination, execution and KPI measurement), data analysis and stakeholders management.

**A typical day**:

- Lead day to day public policy campaign operations in Southern Europe to drive impact of cross functional projects. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
- Provide support to Campaign team in Southern Europe to define, implement and measure Policy engagement strategy
- Be responsible for structuring and executing projects and complex engagement plans influencing policy development in Southern Europe (set KPIs, create measurement frameworks, ensure key initiatives are on track, manage budget and analysis of results)
- In alignment with the EU Policy teams, public policy teams in Spain and Italy, Legal, Business and product teams, oversee and drive the operational implementation of policy proposals and legislative measures (platform regulation, STR, tax, data sharing).
- Prepare a diverse range of materials to support the successful Policy engagement strategy of the Southern Europe team
- Draft written materials - policy position paper, messaging guidelines, Q&As, briefs, presentations, etc.

**Your expertise**:

- At least 8 years of direct experience in Project management in a corporate environment or public institution. Previous experience in the public policy field or Government affairs, a plus.
- As an individual contributor, proven ability to work both independently and cross functionally. Experience of developing and leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders;
- Ability to navigate a complex political or regulatory environment. Ideally, this experience has been built in travel, urbanism or technology. Understanding of the political landscape and legislative processes in Southern Europe, particularly in Spain, is essential. Good knowledge of the political landscape at the local and national level in the region would be an advantage;
- Ability to multi-task by prioritizing work and coordinating required support across various functions to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Excellent strategist, creative thinker and communicator, with great interpersonal, writing and presentation skills;
- Self-starter with a good sense of humor and the ability to thrive in a fast moving and sometimes stressful environment.

**Your Location**:
This role is located in Spain (Barcelona or Madrid) but can involve working from home, with frequent travel to countries in EMEA but also our global headquarters in San Francisco.
