The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. **WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**:
ISGlobal is looking for a motivated GIS Technician to work on combining questionnaire and GPS data to generate high accuracy micro-environment exposures for the HELIX cohort. There may also be additional tasks as a part of the GIS team at ISGlobal.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Work on combining questionnaire and GPS data to generate high accuracy micro-environment exposures for the HELIX cohort.
- Preparation of cohort drawings and related documents, maintaining technical files.
- Prepare manuscript describing GPS work methodology for publication.
- Additional responsibilities and/or duties as found relevant and necessary.

**AUXILIAR TASKS**

This job description reflects the present requirements of the post but may evolve at any time in the future as duties and responsibilities change and/or develop providing there is appropriate consultation with the post-holder.

**SKILLS**:

- Fully proficient in the use of GIS systems including ArcGIS, Postgresql, Postgis, QGIS, Spatialite, SQlite, ENVI.
- Fully proficient in the use of programming languages SQL, Python and R.
- Responsible, flexible and with analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent organization and team-working skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-organized, self-motivated, able to work independently and remotely.

The post holder will adhere to ISGlobal principles contained in **People management policy, including Equity, diversity and health safety**. The post holder will respect, and be accountable to ensure ISGlobal policies and procedures.

**TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS**:

- At least 2 years of experience in GIS and child health research
- Experience in processing and managment of complex data

**LANGUAGE LEVEL**:

- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

**CONDITIONS**:

- Duration: 4 months but extendable
- Starting date: 1 July 2025
- Contract Type: Full time

**SELECTION PROCESS**:
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.

If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
