**Competitive Research Directorate - Grants Management (Post-Award) Unit**
Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is a public sector institution, located in Barcelona (Spain) that promotes and develops innovative biomedical research at the University Hospital Vall d'Hebron. VHIR is oriented towards finding solutions to the health problems of the citizens and has the will to contribute to the scientific, educational, social and economic development within its area of competence.
The Competitive Research Directorate will support the scientific community at Vall d’Hebron throughout the full lifecycle of competitive projects. This Directorate encourages and supports researchers in the pursuit of competitive funding for research, detecting opportunities and contributing to the development of quality proposals, and the successful implementation of granted projects.
Under the leadership of the Competitive Projects Directorate, the Grants Management (Post-Award) Unit provides financial follow-up, guidance on regulations compliance, and post-award management of grant-funded projects for the best research outcomes. The aim of the Unit is to ensure grant-management efficiency and financial sustainability, while maximizing the impact of grant-funded research.
We are currently looking for 2 motivated people to join the team as post-award project managers specialized in international grants.
**Education and qualifications**:
**Required**:
- University degree related with job description duties
- Fluency in English (business level)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Catalan and/or Spanish
**Desired**:
- Specific training in financial management of international competitive projects will be highly valuable
- Knowledge of other European languages
**Experience and knowledge**:
**Required**:
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in post-award management of basic and clinical research grants funded by international organizations (Horizon Europe, H2020, NIH, EU4Health, etc.)
- Experience in financial management.

**Desired**:
- Experience in research institutions in the biomedical sector
- Experience managing grants of national (ISCIII, AEI, PERIS, Fundació La Caixa, LMTV3, etc.) origin
**Main responsibilities and duties**:
- Management grant budgets, preparing financial reports and audits.
- Monitoring project work plan, scientific reports and implementation of grant agreements.
- Anticipating possible deviations during project implementation, planning risk contingency actions if necessary, managing appropriate amendments to grant agreements.
- Ensuring compliance with institutional policies and sponsoring agency regulations and policies.
- Serving as liaison between researchers, funding agencies, and coordinators of collaborative projects. Providing support in consortium meetings organization and other related project activities.
- Any other duties related to the job as requested to contribute to the general functioning of the Competitive Research Directorate.
**Labour conditions**:
- Full-time position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: immediate.
- Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale.
- Contract: Open-ended contract linked to project.
