**Roles and Responsibilities**

As Lightning Protection Engineer, you will be part of Electro-systems sub-function at LM Front End Engineering. Front end engineering is part of LM Engineering & Technology department. As a member of our engineering team you will be contributing to provide technical expertise for new products, processes and development initiatives, while working in cross functional environment.

We believe in technology, problem solving, and technical solutions being implemented with minimum handovers and management layers between technical experts and LM engineering leaders.

You will contribute and do technology development for engineering system specifications according to design guidelines, execute business critical New Product Introductions, drive cost competitiveness, and ensure world class system performance. In addition, you will partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment across product design, supply chain, quality, technology team and other stakeholders.
- Deliver lightning protection system design according to customer requirements and expectations: quality of deliverables, on time delivery, design cost, performance, availability, safety.
- Contribute and support new products introduction. Design and develop future Lightning Protection Systems for innovative & next generation wind turbine blades. Improve existing products, support production plants, develop and mature inspection, retrofit and repair methods
- Contribute and support technology development projects for blade lightning protection systems (LPS) to ensure LM products stay in the forefront of industry standards and differentiate us in the market by creating system value propositions
- Develop and deliver test & validation plans to de-risk and prove system functional performance
- Deliver quality, breadth and depth of technical documentation, such as drawings, specifications, etc.
- Protect Intellectual Property of strategic technology
- Succeed on design reviews according to defined project gates.
- Ensure compliance to design guideline and design specification for the components in scope.

**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, aeronautical, electrical engineering or physics
- 4 years of experience in engineering development projects.
- You are self-motivated and resourceful, have great experience and Craftmanship and manage to take a proactive approach in working/ driving tasks with cross functional project teams.
- We expect that you have capacity for supporting the development, execution, and management of technical deliverables until successful implementation and finalization of product.
- You are robust and have personal drive, and are process oriented with demonstrated problem-solving skills, and excellent understanding of quality assurance methodology during development and execution.
- It is a prerequisite that you can travel as & if required to our different locations in Europe, Asia, and Americas.

**Desired Characteristics**
- A MSc degree or PhD in electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Skilled in electrical component design calculations, drawings, specifications, and schematics.
- +3 years of industry experience, preferred from wind turbine industry, preferable in lightning protection.
- Practical hands-on design experience in the development, factory, or field operations.
- Used to deal with industrial suppliers (national and international).
- Proven ability to work in team in a cross-functional and global environment.
- Proficient presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Positive mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective problem-solving skills: identification, evaluation and solution.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Structured approach to problem solving.
