Senior Physical Design Engineer

About the Role:
Our leading Cisco Silicon One group is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Physical Design Technical Lead to join our new Chip Design Group in Barcelona. As a technical lead, you will play a crucial role in building and mentoring a team of Physical Design Engineers, contributing to the development of next-generation 5G networking products.

**Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to the development of the new Physical Design team in Barcelona
- Mentor and train new engineers, ensuring they have the necessary skills to succeed in their roles
- Collaborate with the team to solve challenging engineering assignments
- Lead the Physical Design aspect of chip development, including Definition, Physical Synthesis, Place and Route, Optimization, Timing closure, and Design Floor Planning

About the Team:
You'll be joining the Back End Design team at Cisco Silicon One, responsible for the entire BackEnd development process RTL to GDS and leading the development of high-quality VLSI designs. Our team is unique, working in a startup atmosphere within a stable and leading corporate, and we use the latest silicon technologies and processes to build the largest scale and most complex devices at the edge of feasibility.

As part of the Cisco Silicon One team, you will be driving the development of game-changing next-generation network devices, providing a unified, programmable silicon architecture that is the foundation of all Cisco's future routing products. Our devices are designed to be universally adaptable across service providers and web-scale markets, delivering high speed without sacrificing programmability, buffering, power efficiency, scale, or feature flexibility.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from a top university
- Extensive experience in Back End Design
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and train new engineers
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills

U.S. employees have

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
