Introduction

Are you good at building relationships and have excellent communication skills then we would like to know more about you?

For Shimano we are looking for a PR and Communication officer to join our Team. This role mainly focusses on the press relations and manage all the contact with them, materials that will be released to press and media. Also, you will oversee the sponsorship of teams and athletes as well as attending events, fairs, and this type of activities to be always in contact with public, media and cyclists. You will be responsible of all Shimano communication and public relations; you will be acting as an ambassador for the brand in terms of good relations. You will be working multidisciplinary team and giving support to the category plans of brand managers in terms of communication, and you should be able to manage budget for teams and press.

The Challenge
- Frequently and proactively monitor and analyze coverage of Shimano in the media, to proactively manage opportunities and threats.
- You should be able to write, edit, and send out press releases to media contacts
- Responsible for building and maintain a database of PR, media, press and influencer contacts.
- Ensuring you engage with and be an ambassador of Shimano.
- You will act as advisors to other colleagues on effectively delivering information to the public.
- Responsible for the tone and message of internal/external communication being in line with the desired image of Shimano.
- You will be formulating the PR/ Communications/ Media plan, to focus the activities in area of responsibility.

What are we looking for?
- At least 3-6 years of relevant experience (preferably in an international setting).
- Knowledge of MS suite.
- Knowledge of working with bicycle related components and product is a plus.
- Affinity with the bike-market and the Shimano-product range.
- Excellent language skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
- You are proactive and willing to learn.
- Willingness to travel to events on a regular basis.
- You are the one who is cooperative and loves working in teams.
- Knowledge of cycling media and general media is a plus.
