BBVA Spark is a global business unit of BBVA that aims to bank of the whole entrepreneurial ecosystem: high growth potential and innovative companies as well as venture capital funds. We aim to do this by providing them with banking products, venture debt funding and financial advice throughout their entire life-cycle.

**About the job**:
The Vice President will report directly to the Managing Director of Venture & Growth Lending in Spain.

Responsibilities include conducting detailed analyses of clients, strategies, crafting tailored debt structures aligned with their specific needs, and presenting these proposals to the Credit Risk and Investment Committees. This role also involves building and nurturing strong, long-term client relationships, gaining a deep understanding of their strategic vision, business plans, and growth potential.

The Vice President will lead the due diligence, negotiation of transaction documents to closing and funding, post-transaction and will closely monitor the performance of debt instruments, proactively identifying and implementing corrective actions when necessary and be able to identify upselling opportunities for the bank.

What we are looking for:

- Finance, Business or Economics degree. An MBA or CFA will be a plus.
- Experience in the entrepreneurial ecosystem or in VC Funds is highly valued.
- Solid understanding of tech market and business models. Expertise in particular tech sectors/segments desirable.
- Strong project management capability and proven ability to be a self-starter and independently manage complex processes and deliver timely results.
- Proven track record of deal making experience.
- Co-ordinate and lead the deal execution process across the full deal lifecycle: initial screening, detailed financial assessment, modelling, due diligence, internal approval and documentation.
- Excellent relational skills, with the ability to establish solid, long-lasting relationships with clients and a strong focus on achieving results.
- Focus on Portfolio Management and maintain frequent and consistent communication with the portfolio companies for both a risk management perspective as well as potential further opportunities for the bank (i.e. “double down on the winners” strategy).
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- A team player who thrives in collaborative and diverse environments and able to focus on own and Team’s KPIs.
- The ability to build an extensive network within the VC ecosystem in Spain is a plus.
- Languages: English and Spanish are required.
