Come join the Amazon Kids team as we build out a new team in Madrid Amazon Kids gives children the content that they love and devices built just for them. We also give parents the oversight and controls they need to feel safe. Our team in Madrid is focused on building out our features for children to communicate and play.
This is an opportunity to join a brand new team. We're looking for a leader to help influence our long-term strategy and team culture as we build the team from the ground up. You will own the vision, roadmap, and requirements for features that kids use to communicate and play. You will work with stakeholders, partner product managers, and your peer tech teams to deliver products that our customers love. Your work will often be portable device (FireOS, Android, and iOS) focused but you will work across the software stack as needed. Most of all you'll partner with your peers and leadership to make sure that the team is a healthy and enjoyable place for everyone to be at their best and have fun.
Key job responsibilities
As a Sr PM-T for Kids Madrid, you will collaborate with PM-Ts across Amazon Kids and with partner teams like Alexa Communications to define the vision and strategic direction of our product.
You will work with engineering teams across the software stack to define features, prioritize backlogs, and align roadmaps to ensure successful launches.
You will work with our leadership, product teams, UX designers, and engineering to make sure that we're aligned on program vision and investments. You will be responsible for setting and tracking goals.
You will balance customer and business needs with the constraints that our tech teams face. You will exercise your strengths in taking large, complex projects and breaking them down into manageable chunks. You will bring high judgment and data to discussions and use that to influence your peers and leadership.
A day in the life
In this role you'll leverage your experience as a product manager to define and drive the delivery of first class features for kids. You'll spend any given day working with partner product teams, business intelligence teams, UX teams, and engineering teams identifying the product and features that we need to build. You'll bring data to bear on decisions and when we don't have data you'll drive an iterative, experimental approach to keep the team moving forward. You'll have regularly leadership visibility and will drive alignment to our vision. Most of all, you'll work in an environment where we have fun while challenging each other to delight our customers.
About the team
- Passion for consumer experiences and the mobile space
- Experience working on products with a hardware component
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills while the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
- Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners
- MBA or Master’s degree
