**About the role**:
As a Business Intelligence (BI) Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of business intelligence solutions to support strategic decision-making within the organization. You will build a function to gather, analyse, and transform data into actionable insights, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions that drive business growth and performance. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong leadership skills to effectively leverage data as a competitive advantage.
**Key Responsibilities**:
1. BI Strategy Development:
- Collaborate with senior management to define the organization's BI strategy and roadmap aligned with business goals and objectives.
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure business performance and track progress towards strategic targets.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in BI to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
2. Data Analysis and Modeling
- Lead the design and development of data models, dashboards, and reports to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Conduct thorough data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization or improvement.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across different systems and sources, ensuring that it comes from trusted sources and is available when needed.
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and department heads to understand their business needs and requirements for BI solutions.
- Present findings, recommendations, and insights to senior management and other stakeholders, translating complex data into understandable insights.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing strategic guidance and support to drive data-driven decision-making at all levels of the organization.
4. Project Management:
- Manage end-to-end BI projects, from requirements gathering and solution design to implementation and deployment.
- Define project scope, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
5. Team Management:
- Build a talented and diverse team of BI experts, to bring functional expertise to support the business’ growth.
- Manage and mentor the BI team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
**Job Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field; additional specialization programs valuable.
- Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in business intelligence, data analysis, and project management.
- Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView, as well as SQL, Python, or other data manipulation languages.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Agile) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and extract actionable insights.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proactive, flexible, and problem-solving attitude, able to prioritize in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Humble and approachable, a team player with great collaboration skills.
