The Research Analyst assists the Researchers Team Manager and the Business Development Manager with research related to tenders in the relevant Unit within the Business Development Department.

**Key tasks, duties and responsibilities**:

- Supporting the development of new business opportunities in relevant sectors and client markets, with relevant research about the background, programming, situation in the country or region and other aspects of the project.
- Researching new market opportunities and obtain market intelligence.
- Coordinating with Business Development Managers and with drafters.
- Assisting with ad hoc research related to new material during the tender phase.
- Taking part in launch meetings and logical framework analysis meetings.
- Writing sections of technical proposals as required.
- Maintaining and developing a network of expert contacts and partner firms.
- Ensuring projects meet contractual obligations and client requirements.
- Facilitating information sharing within the Unit, and with other DAI Units and Departments.

**Qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience**:
**Essential**:

- Postgraduate degree in a relevant field or equivalent working experience or experience working as a researcher in academic field.
- Demonstrable understanding of and interest in international development and working in an international/multi-cultural environment.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Demonstrable ability to write technical text.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Proactive, assertive and action-oriented with strong intellectual agility and ability.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

**Desirable**:

- Proven experience supporting consulting services or international development projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively in at least one other language.
