Thales in Spain is a full system provider and global supplier of train control technology.
As part of the research and technology team, you are responsible for the technical project management of the development and integration of the different components for new versions of the field element controller product line. You are expected to lead the development team to solve the right problems and create the right value.
As SW Project Manager, your main responsibilities are:
- Plan and coordinate internal teams performing work packages within the constraints provided by the agreed architecture and design policy.
- Allocate responsibilities to individual contributors.
- Tracking and reporting the Schedule, Cost, Content and Progress of the works against plan
- Identify and pro-actively manage project risks & opportunities and ensure that risks are assessed and reported on a regular basis.
- Coordinate with other teams within the product/project engineering team.
What are we looking for?
- Degree in technical engineering and/or suitable experience.
- Technical knowledge:
- Handling of project management tools (like Jira, MS Office, MS Project / Primavera).
- Knowledge of development life cycles and methodologies (including Agile and Lean).
- Understanding of railway signalling and traffic management technology and railway operation.
- Experienced in full development lifecycle (e.g. planning, analysis, requirements, design, development, test & integration, maintenance).
- Knowledge and experience in safety relevant systems.
- Languages: Fluent Spanish and English. The position requires to coordinate teams from different countries.
- Skills and competences: Leadership. Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
