Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:
As a key partner to the Zone/ Country Management team, input and participate in the development of the business strategies and operations of the respective Zone/ Country. Ensure the controlling and forecasting and provision of a critical view on all the business drivers, contributing to the achievement of targets and the continuous improvement of the financial performance of the business.
In addition (depending on local regulations), governor for all respective legal entities and external company representative with accountability for statutory accounts and taxation (together with the Cluster FD and support of GBS).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Partner Role
- Drive value creation through helping the business make better operational and strategic decisions
- Directs the management of financial plans, targets, strategies and controls that focus on achieving desired financial and business objectives.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting of all key financials, both internally and internationally.
- Lead monthly/quarterly/yearly planning processes (IBP, Budget, Forecast, SBP etc)
- Provide ongoing input from a financial perspective to improve business decision-making, e.g. trade terms, accounts receivable aging, DSO, clearance and phase-out evaluation
- Strategizes cross functionally with the Cluster Finance team to optimize profitability, growth prospects, operational execution, budget management and strategy decisions.
- Ensure audit and compliance with Group finance manual of the key financial, control and approval processes
- Ensure provision of regulatory financial information and governance of all legal entities to the respective tax and financial institutions (together with GBS)
- Lead or participate in cross functional projects as required.
People Management
- Lead on-the-ground Commercial controlling presence and proactively secure/co-ordinate needed collaboration and service levels from various internal providers covering all other centralized Finance areas (Accounting, Tax, Credit, Treasury, General FP&A, Demand Planning, Internal Controls, Non-Trade Procurement)
- Set objectives in alignment with Finance priorities, manage workload and results to achieve business objectives while adopting best practices and achieving continuous cross-functional process improvement.
Authorities:
- External representation of adidas in the Cluster as multiple legal entity Board member
- Governance over country specific policies and authority levels

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Oriented towards our consumer, customers (internal and external), solutions and growth
- Trusted enabler for key business partners across multiple geographies and disciplines
- Ability and willingness to influence in a complex international matrix environment with limited direct reporting authority
- Ability to coach, manage, align, motivate and develop both direct reports and those outside of direct scope of people responsibility
- Strong business analytics skills with a proven business acumen
- Excellent project management and presentation skills (both oral and written)
- Ability to execute progressive scenario planning involving both financial and non-financial inputs
- Mobility for future growth opportunities
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Advanced degree or qualification in Finance, Economics or Accounting (e.g. MBA or CPA)
- Solid accounting skills and experience
- Familiarity with SAP, COPA and other relevant adidas and industry Finance systems/analytical software a major plus
- 7-10 years of broad based operational and strategic finance leadership experience with progressive responsibility in industry leading companies
- Language skills:
- English: full proficiency spoken and written
- Spanish is a plus
