**MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Engagements with the Medical and Scientific Community**

**Scientific and Medical Expertise**

The MSL acts as a medical ambassador for the company within the assigned area, and is recognized as a scientific expert in the oncology product and therapeutic area, whilst also acting as a speaker and/or discussant in external meetings, or representing the company at relevant international/national scientific meetings. Maintaining the highest level of scientific knowledge in the area of oncology and keeping up-to-date on all major studies, both ongoing and completed, competitive product information and clinical data is therefore an integral part of this position.

**Integral part of the national Medical Affiars team**

Through appropriate feedback, the MSL contributes to the development of the oncology country medical affairs plans led by Medical Advisors, whilst having a particular focus on the implementation of the assigned projects and activities within the medical plan. Furthermore, the MSL will function as a medical affairs representative within the cross-functional field based company structure.

**Guiding Principles and Practices**

MSL’s engagements will be based on an in-depth scientific exchange in the area of oncology and often lead to knowledge transfer initiatives and research. All discussions between MSLs and Health Care Professionals will focus on a bi-directional exchange of ideas on disease related topics, scientific presentations of data in the public domain, and reporting scientific results (e.g. discussion of clinical study results) with a fair balance, and in accordance with company and local regulatory standards.

**REPORTING LINE**:
The MSL will be a member of the national oncology medical affairs team, reporting into the Therapeutic Area Head.

**Training and Knowledge**:

- Degree in Medicine or Pharmacy; or a Degree in the area of the Life Sciences at a PhD level.
- Specialization and/or clinical/research experience in the area of oncology/hematology/immunology.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry in similar roles.
- Previous solid experience in oncology (in particular GU malignancies would be highly valued) and/or experience across a variety of disease areas or with drugs with multiple indications. Experience in the field of inmunooncology would be highly valued.
- Strong scientific baseline knowledge. Knowledge of clinical research methodology, implementation and data interpretation. Sound scientific and clinical judgment, and eagerness to learn more in depth in the therapeutic area.
- Full professional competency in Spanish and English.
