**Reimagine What’s Possible**
As a **European Category Manager,** you will be accountable for the **Procurement and Category Management of European Customer Engineering Spend**, aligning supplier capability with the business needs at best value. Leading commercial and contractual engagements with suppliers. Developing and project managing regional category strategies and aligning global, regional, and local procurement initiatives. You will be accountable for driving **Simplicity & Sustainability** in Procurement across the **European Customer Engineering **business.
As a **European Category Manager,** you will:
- Lead standardization across the region, consistent with regional/global practices, related to execution of global supply agreements, procurement process simplification and development of best practice to achieve operational excellence by keeping focus on the Air Products 4Ss, Safety, Speed, Simplicity and Self-Confidence. Leading collaboration initiatives and coordinating relationships.: Leading cross-functional initiatives and coordinating collaboration opportunities You will have a strong technical background and will be required to interface with a variety of functions including operations, supply chain logistics, customer engineering, finance/treasury, and business management.
- Identify, develop and manage suppliers, understand macro-economic impacts to our suppliers and the industries in which we do business. Representing the function to key supplier partners, building strong and lasting relationships. You will be required to identify low-cost supply sources, develop non-traditional sources, and promote supplier innovation to drive productivity to the client.
- Responsible for building sustainable relationships with the Air Products supply base ensuring safety, ethical trading and reliability. You will contribute directly to Air Products profitability targets by maximizing opportunities to reduce spend for the European IG/Customer Engineering organization.
- Finally, this position will maintain current benchmarks for market conditions to better understand pricing trends, market knowledge, demand/capacity constraints, and financial stability of category suppliers.
**What we are looking for**:
- BA in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or other suitable discipline
- CIPS qualification or equivalent beneficial
- Direct and MRO procurement experience essential
- Understanding of sourcing strategies
- Knowledge of SAP, eSourcing tools and analytical skills required
- Continuous Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) beneficial
- Experience of Sourcing, Engineering, Sales and Marketing or suitable discipline
