ICFO is offering 2 postdoctoral positions to join the Quantum Information Theory group led by Prof. Dr. Antonio Acín and the Quantum Optics Theory group led by Prof. Dr. Maciej Lewenstein. The hired researchers will be working in the project NeQST. Its main objective is to leverage a quantum information processing paradigm based on multi-level carriers of quantum information—qudits.
Research problems to be considered are the construction of quantum error correction codes based on qudits; the efficient simulation of quantum models of scientific relevance, such as gauge theories; the solution of optimization problems in academia and industry naturally phrased in terms of multi-level variables; and certification tools specifically designed for multi-level quantum information, enabling a device-independent validation of data.
