**Functions, Duties, Tasks**:
**Food Animal Unit strategy and planning**
- Drive poultry portfolio growth.
- Lead business development in poultry direct customers.
- Ensure poultry distributors sales plans.
- Input to Food Animal unit strategy, profit and brand plans.
**Customer Focused Sales Execution and Delivery of Business Results**
- Work with marketing, value added services and operations to develop appropriate strategy in order to achieve unit goals.
- Execute annual business plans.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with customers, distributors, and key influencers to promote the Elanco brand and business goals.
- Identify opportunities and implement plans to grow Elanco market share (plan, execute and achieve market share growth).
- Partner with marketing to drive market intelligence initiatives (monitor industry trends, competitor products and activities, customer, field and competitive intelligence)
- Delivery to the pricing targets; gross to net targets.
- Monitor and track business results, adapt approach and strategies as appropriate. Feedback into marketing and other functions for input and support.
**Sales Targeting and Market Intelligence**
- Targeting and inputs into segmentation in brand plans to identify which customers will deliver results, develop Key Accounts by customer
- Deliver customer goals from brand plan roll out
- Customer experience delivery and feedback into marketing planning
**Sales and technical force Capability Development**
- Identify and develop the right capabilities for sales team:
- Hard and soft skills.
- Poultry market knowledge.
- Veterinary knowledge.
- Distribution knowledge.
- Salesforce optimization based on business unit needs.
**Manage the poultry sales organization**
- Lead and develop the poultry sales KAMs, sales representatives, and technical team, creating an engaging environment by building a strong customer focused culture with a growth mindset.
- Ensure expectations are met for direct customer contact within the team (customer days) and spend a minimum of x days personally in customer contact per quarter.
- Ensure compliance and completion of administrative tasks as appropriate.
**Plans and operate departmental budget strategies and activities**
- Support to HoS to set objectives, monitoring policies and practices, making expenditure recommendations, allocating resources and operating within set targets to control costs and ensure successful departmental operations.
**Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications)**:
**Education/Experience**
- Degree level either life science or business qualification. Preference for Veterinary Science.
- 10+ years Sales and/or Marketing experience.
- Experience in managing sales personnel as well as experience in building effective teams is essential with a demonstrated ability to coach and develop talent.

- Strong attention to detail, commitment to excellence, and drive to achieve positive results.
- Strong business, analytical and presentation skills
- Ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent planning and leadership skills.
- Strong Communication skills: verbal, written with fluency in English.
- Mastery of and compliance with project approval requirements, policies and procedures
**Additional Preferences**:
- Second or multiple language a positive, but not required.
- Knowledgeable of sales and/or marketing capabilities and competencies with a focus on and understanding of the customer
- Experience managing a P&L statement or a business unit is a plus.
**Other Information**:
- Located in Spain
- Travel up to 60-70% is required regularly within Spain, and occasionally Europe.
- Flexibility to participate in evening and/or weekend business events
