**What you will do**

**Regional Leadership**
- Implement environmental strategies tailored to HORSE’s European operations, focusing on all environmental topics.
- Collaborate with site teams to align environmental efforts with HORSE’s sustainability objectives.
- Serve as a regional advisor on environmental risks and opportunities to local management.

**Operational Oversight**
- Conduct relevant assessments of status quo and manage remediation projects across European sites.
- Implement and monitor systems to ensure quality of measures and contamination prevention.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to establish soil-safe practices at European facilities.

**Compliance and Risk Management**
- Ensure compliance with European Union, national, and local environmental regulations.
- Address environmental risks specific to the European sites, maintaining robust prevention mechanisms.
- Support regulatory audits and inspections, acting as the primary contact for environmental inquiries in the region.

**Collaboration and Advocacy**
- Support cross-functional projects aimed at waste reduction, resource conservation, and environmental education.
- Build partnerships with local communities, governments, and environmental agencies in Europe.

**Team Coordination and Development**
- Work with site teams to provide training on soil pollution prevention and best practices.
- Assist in developing regional environmental KPIs and tracking performance against goals.

**What we are looking for**

**Education**
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s is preferred.

**Experience**
- 5+ years of experience in environmental management, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
- Hands-on experience in soil contamination mitigation and remediation.

**Skills**
- Strong knowledge of European environmental regulations and soil contamination practices.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects across different sites.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

**Certifications**
- ISO 14001 certification or equivalent is advantageous.
