Thales has strong growth ambitions in the field of Airport and Airlines for passenger biometric journey. The corresponding technical solutions are complex, in constant evolution, using advanced technologies, and far from being limited to the addition of Thales existing products.

**Main Mission**

You will report to Airport and Airlines biometric solutions Product Line Manager (PLM), and your role and its missions, as **Travel Biometrics solution Expert **, can be summarized below:

- The solution expert will develop a solid technical understanding of the overall solution including the integration /interfacing of the various products involved - in order to be able to support the regional sales team and solution managers to answer technical questions during or before tenders, to help the analysis of the customer needs and to propose the best technical approach. Activities will be particularly key in our left shifting strategy to support capture growth (pre-tender support): high-level solution, best usage of existing products (including out of the traditional travel/F2G products), best solution “in between products”, and technical split versus partners. Field trips maybe envisioned in that phase alongside with PLM.
- The Solution Expert will also make sure that any potential issue or possible evolution of products is fed back to products managers.
- The solution expert will interact frequently with the Fly to Gate product manager, and as required R&D team, to review the proposed overall F2G architecture for each version, challenge it to ensure it meets the business expectations and constraints in particular the non functional features : cost, performance, reliability, ease of use, ease of deployment, time to market, etc
- The solution expert will develop knowledge on the relevant partners products (egates, kiosk, bag drop, software components, etc ), as well as keep aware of potential partners for equivalent products and make recommendations on this scope, ie extension to new partners, or new products of existing partners etc
- Given that the F2G solution is a joined development by IBS and PRS, it is particularly important for all the above points to engage and address both teams to ensure the global solution is achieving the desire goal.

**Specific Responsibilities**
- Left Shift: Design and roughly evaluate the technical solution to especially non-standard requests. When needed, establish or defend the solution with customer
- Tender Out: Support Solution Managers to design and estimate the technical answer to especially non-standard requests.
- Define demo tools that will be used. Act as “Customer” to Product Managers, to establish work that needs to be done by the corresponding R&D teams and beyond. _E.g. Demo using a “passport in your phone” may require collaboration between 4 to 5 products and specific components in between. _
- Promote uses cases and contribute to technical improvements to Product Management and R&D
