SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
- Assay development and validation for biochemical and cell-based assays
- Compound testing and data analysis supporting drug discovery programs
- Develop and execute assays working with human whole blood and isolated leukocytes
- Enablement of new detection technologies to facilitate drug discovery
- Investigate molecular mechanisms and mode of action of compounds at cellular level.
- Participate on multidisciplinary teams, presenting scientific data in support of research projects.
- Collaborate in departmental tasks to improve process efficiency
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular pharmacology or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated laboratory experience in biochemistry and cell biology.
- Experience in scientific data analysis
- Understanding of the drug discovery process.
- Strong capability to collaborate with scientist in multiple disciplines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
- Strong work ethic. Scientific curiosity. Can do, will do attitude.
Additional desired skills:
- Experience with liquid handling automation
- Knowledge of mechanistic pharmacology
- Experience in the biology of multiple target classes (enzymes, GPCRs, NHRs, transcription factors) is highly desirable.
- Previous positions in biotech or pharma industry would be considered a plus.
