We want to provide our engineering and business teams (Product, Sales, Marketing, etc.) with the right analytic and data tools to help them make optimal and informed decisions. To that end, we are on the mission to design and build the foundations of Cleverea’s Data team responsible for effectively implementing a wide variety of E2E data projects. We’re now looking for a **talented and motivated Data Engineer Intern for our team**, someone willing to embrace the challenge and contribute to the growth of the company. The role involves working hand in hand with other teams inlcuding Operations, Product, Actuarial, Marketing, Finance and Sales, whose joint mission is to make sure our customers have the best customer experience possible. **Key responsibilities** - Collaborate with the teams to help them improve the quality and scalability of our customer facing activities - Identify and fix operational corner cases along the customer journey - Automate manual and repetitive activities carried out by the Sales, Finance or Customer Experience teams - Identify and fix bugs on our data models - Create and improve internal backoffice tools - Define and run analysis on key operating performance indicators - Create dashboards and reports to monitor key performance metrics - Work with product owners to setup experiments and interpret the results - Statistical analysis using SQL and statistical programming packages to provide insights into complex problems - Design, develop and deploy reliable ETL pipelines using python and SQL - Orchestrate and manage data pipelines using Apache Airflow **What you should have** - Degree in computer science or similar with special interest in data and engineering - Knowledge of SQL query writing and understanding in a relational database environment - General knowledge of Python - Ability to work in a team environment - Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem solving skills - Willingness to learn and embrace emerging technology with little mentoring - Fluent in English and Spanish **What might be a plus** - Experience with data discovery tools (Qlik/Superset/Looker/PowerBI) - Knowledge of the main statistical and data manipulation packages in Python (pandas, matplotlib, scipy ) - Previous experience with Apache Airflow - Experience with any cloud service provider (AWS, Azure, Google cloud ), preferably AWS - Experience working in an early-stage startup **What we offer** - The opportunity to challenge a whole industry from scratch - A rock solid and fully committed team - Brand new office in Barcelona’s city centre - Competitive salary matching your skills and experience - Flexible working hours and remote working - Stock-based compensation - In-office paid lunch every Wednesday - Regular in-person team events - Free coffee and snacks - Employee discounts - Employee referral program - Endless opportunities for professional growth **About Cleverea** **We are an** **insurtech startup based in Barcelona building the insurance company of tomorrow**.
