**ROLE SUMMARY**:

- British Council School, Madrid, is seeking a passionate and forward-thinking **Teacher of English** to join our dedicated Secondary team. You will inspire and support students across Key Stages 3, 4 (English National Curriculum), and 5 (Bilingual Baccalaureate - BiBac®), helping them reach their full academic potential while growing as global citizens. - Deliver an engaging, broad and balanced curriculum in English across Key Stages 3 to 5.
- Encourage high expectations and foster a supportive environment that motivates and challenges pupils.
- Use a variety of effective teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
- Plan, assess, and adapt lessons to ensure progression and measurable outcomes.
- Provide pastoral care as a form tutor, maintaining regular communication with families and staff.
- Contribute to the wider school community and support extracurricular activities when appropriate.
- Follow safeguarding protocols and support student wellbeing.
- Fulfil additional duties as outlined by the line manager, including those in the National Private Schools Collective Agreement.

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE**:
**Essential**:

- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) and Qualified Teacher Status.
- Successful completion of a teacher training programme with relevant experience in a UK, International or Bilingual school.
- Recent and relevant professional development in Teaching and Learning.
- Proficiency in English at CEFR level C2.

**Desirable**:

- At least 2 years of recent experience teaching English at secondary level.
- Experience teaching the English National Curriculum.
- Familiarity with Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- EFL/ESL experience with young learners.
