**The Role**

**About the role**:
The Project Finance Associate will contribute to all aspects of the Project Finance team’s responsibilities, including primarily project finance but also corporate finance, acquisition finance, and sell downs of minority equity stakes. The Team is responsible for the development and execution of Sonnedix’s financing strategy - debt capital raising, restructuring, and refinancing.
- The Associate will be a team member supporting the deal leader and will report to the Head of Project Finance, Europe. The role will primarily support transactions in Europe but may also support Sonnedix’s global corporate transactions. In Europe, Sonnedix is a major solar player in Spain, Italy, and France and a growing player in the UK, Germany, and Poland. Sonnedix is on a strong growth trajectory that will continue to expand our presence in Europe.
- The role will be based in Europe, ideally within one of the Sonnedix offices in London, Madrid, or Milan. The Associate will join Sonnedix’s European Project Finance team of seven professionals. The European team is part of the global Project Finance team, which includes colleagues in the USA, Chile and Japan.
- The Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the execution of financings. Strong financial modelling skills will be essential. The Associate will help to build, amend, manage, and maintain financial models from origination to closing and build and run scenarios and analyses. The Associate will contribute to all aspects of the deal cycle, including preparing presentations, drafting and reviewing term sheets, modelling, managing the due diligence process, communication with lenders and advisors, negotiation of the full set of loan documentation, execution and clearing the conditions precedent for disbursement. The Associate will also analyse industry trends and contribute to the creative and strategic thinking needed for loan structuring.
- **Desirable skills**:

- Fluency in spoken and written English (Spanish, Italian, German, or Portuguese is a plus)
- Financial modelling skills - building, amending, updating and maintaining financial models, including analyzing different alternatives
Executing project finance or M&A transactions skills
- Relevant deal experience in Europe is desirable
- Ability to develop strong, cooperative relationships inside the organization to drive the financing process
