The mission of our team is to make ArcelorMittal first steelmaker in the world of Additive Manufacturing. Additive manufacturing development area is dedicated to support ArcelorMittal steel production with new grades, new steel powder and wires, and to develop the most suitable solutions for enhance the additive manufacturing processes and quality as well as to manage and to develop global research projects.
**Who we are looking for**
We are looking for a research engineer to join the additive manufacturing materials team focused on the development and production of new steel solutions using additive manufacturing technologies. This research engineer in the development of additive manufacturing products will be directly involved in leading projects and supporting potential clients in custom solutions. This person will work in a multidisciplinary team focused on proposing, supporting and developing new ideas, concepts and technologies. Main activities would include:
- Maintain a continuous technology watch on atomization processes, wire fabrication, printing and characterization techniques and standards.
- Critically review and evaluate investments related to the improvement and control of processes comprising additive manufacturing within the ArcelorMittal Group.
- Interact and collaborate with other R&D departments to enrich projects taking into account upstream and downstream aspects of the processes: Global R&D specialists and technicians, plant experts, corporate teams, etc. and develop research in collaboration with external partners (academic laboratories, technical centers, suppliers).
**What we will need**
- **Education**:Chemical Engineer/Industrial Engineer/Mining Engineer.
- **Experience **in Additive Manufacturing processes and materials (powder and wire format), in steel metallurgy and end-use properties.
- Able to challenge current technologies / propose new ideas to research on disruptive solutions.
- **Languages**:Level advanced in English and Spanish.
**Minimum requirements**
- Knowledge about additive manufacturing materials production routes, laser metal based manufacturing technologies, additively manufactured steel parts characterization.
- Experience in design of experiments and samples characterization.
- Experience in project coordination and management.
- **Soft skills**:Initiative, Adaptability, Results Oriented, Team Work, Technological Curiosity.
