Laboratory Technician

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
- Provide support to Alcobendas sample management center
- The employee will be responsible for the following tasks related to compound handling:

- Compound weighing
- Solubilization
- Plating with acoustic dispensing or traditional liquid handling instruments
- Database updates
- Distribution of samples within the R&D facility
- Create workflows for compound handling in Mosaic or equivalent software
- Develop scripts for compound dispensing in Echo and Tempo software
- Be responsible for shipments of compounds and biological samples
- Prepare customs documentation for international shipments and help with parcel custom clearance when required.
- Work as part of the Global Sample Management organization to maintain and improve processes
- Interact with scientists to ensure timely access to Lilly’s sample collection

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience:

- Professional education as laboratory technician.
- Experience with traditional liquid handlers as well as acoustic dispensers
- Solid understanding of the sample management process in pharma industry.
- Strong capability to collaborate with scientist from multiple disciplines
- Good oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong work ethic.

Additional desired skills:

- Expertise in database handling
- Experience in creation of liquid handling scripts
- Previous positions in biotech or pharma industry would be considered a plus.
