**Director, S&OP & Materials HVAC/R EMEA**:
**What you will do**

This strategic leadership role provides the strategy around Delivery Performance, Inventory, Material Control systems/tools/advances, staffing and people development for the IR Business unit Unit. Our Director, Materials Management position is part of Global Operations within the Global Products division, a $14B business within Johnson Controls. Global Operations consists of an extensive global supply base, 85+ internal factories and 30+ internal Distribution Centers. This role works across the sophisticated global portfolio of businesses to ensure competitive advantage with the right Planning, Inventory management & Material Control strategies to enable flawless delivery execution, cost management, & cash management.

You will work with the Continuous Improvement Center of Excellence team to improve the JCMS Material Control principles, its objectives, practices, standards and metrics. This role will facilitate the continued maturation implementation of our Materials Management strategy and will drive the deployment, execution and sustainability of the strategy. You will also work with the Sales, Product Management, Engineering & Materials leadership teams to jointly optimize planning, new product introduction, material delivery and system inventory for the business.

**How you will do it**
- Transform the Planning and Material Control systems, team member skills and performance using the JCMS principles, to unify the diverse manufacturing plants and processes.
- Focus efforts on planning & materials processes to improve Delivery Performance, Inventory planning and attainment for Planning & inventory goals (FA, FE, bias, ATP, Inventory Optimization), advances on JCMS Material Control Principle compliance, appropriate Staffing for Planning & Materials teams, People Development and Succession Planning on Material function.
- Work with Center of Excellence team to develop and improve the JCMS Material Control principles, its objectives, practices, standards and metrics. Support business unit functional leaders to drive the deployment, execution and sustainability of the JCMS in this principle, and interaction with other divisions to maintain consistency on expectations on this Principle.
- Develop and oversee that site responsible leads conduct plant planning & material control assessments, identifying key actions supporting road map for improving planning & material control maturity to optimize inventory and meet customer service levels. Track and drive action plans within plants assigned to achieve Maturity Levels in Planning & Material Control principles according Leadership expectations.
- Lead product lifecycles from a planning and materials perspective including NPI launch readiness, end of life phase outs, and last time buy management with vendors.
- Engage with sales and product management on SKU management and rationalization to achieve inventory and forecast accuracy optimization.
- Manage data governance and MRP/purchasing parameters within our ERPs, planning tools and scheduling tools to ensure optimized supply and delivery performance.
- Develop and enable a robust clear to build process with advanced tools and strong engagement with our supply base.
- Work directly with PBU and commodity procurement teams to drive strategic purchasing and enhanced inventory programs.
- Evaluate supply chain management processes and drive implementation of best practices across the organization through teaching and coaching.
- Develop and support additional projects and strategies for additional tools and processes that can improve operating efficiencies key operational metrics with actions to close gaps to established targets.
- Maintain effective working relationship and communication with other Ducted Systems functions (Procurement, Operations, Product Management, Engineering, New Product Introduction and PMO).
- Reporting responsibility will include Ducted Systems S&OP/demand and supply planning teams, inventory management, data governance, plus dotted line reporting of the site materials teams.

**What we look for**
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or Business Administration with ten (5) to fifteen (15) years’ experience in a SC Planning, S&OP and/or Materials Control along with operational experience in warehousing, manufacturing or production areas.
- Knowledge of and experience working with multiple, global manufacturing operations strongly preferred
- Knowledge of and expertise in defining planning & material control processes for a diverse organization of make to stock and make to order business is strongly preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate and drive change in a manufacturing environment, across all levels in the organization and extending to internal and external partners, is critical.
