- . This is an exciting role offering a broad and evolving practice with high visibility and direct support responsibilities for one or more therapeutic areas in the business. The role reports to the Legal Senior Director and is part of a team managing a high volume of legal and business conduct (compliance) support on a range of issues often with tight deadlines, which will require a responsive, hands-on mentality and approach._

- nsure comprehensive support for the Affiliate’s Business Units, Market Access team, Commercial Operations and functional departments on all legal and business conduct matters, with an analytical approach, strong attention to detail, excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills._
- The senior lawyer will give substantive legal advice to one or more of Gilead’s Business Units and cross functional teams supporting the activities of the Business Unit(s) on sales and marketing strategies, medical educational activities, public affairs, patient group and community activities as well as policy and government affairs initiatives._
- In addition this role will have a focus on supporting the compliance program for the _
- Spanish_
- Affiliate, also with regard to Gilead’s Business Conduct Manual and Farm_
- a_
- industria Code of Practice (and underpinning _
- Spanish_
- and EU laws), Transparency, FCPA and Anti-Bribery._
- Legal Responsibility_
- Lead on strategic legal/business conduct advice and operational support for at least one key Business Unit and other functions and departments in the _
- Spanish_
- affiliate, including, but not limited to:_
- _ Supply, distribution and _public _procurement processes_
- _ Promotion and product launch _planning/implementation_._
- _ Managing external counsels advice and litigations and being accountable for the relevant budgets_
- _ Legal support to market access strategy and implementation_
- _ Contract negotiation_
- _ Pharmaceutical law_
- _ Competition law_
- _ Anti-corruption process review and implementation_
- _ Design, development and delivery of legal training program_
- All the above ensuring strict alignment and coordination within the legal function at all levels._
- Compliance / _
- Business Conduct Responsibility_
- This will include leading on strategic business conduct operational support for the _
- Spanish_
- Affiliate and provision of related legal and business conduct advice as required, including:_
- _ Overseeing ACE Business Conduct SOP implementation, training and compliance at Affiliate level._
- _ Collaborating with Business Conduct teams from other areas of the organization on Business Conduct projects and SOP and training development._
- _ Overseeing business conduct compliance by the _Spanish_ Affiliate in its interactions with HCPs, community and decision makers, including sales, marketing, medical education, community and payer interactions._
- _ Supporting _Spanish_ Affiliate (across all therapeutic teams and functions) on business conduct matters including advice on points of interpretation of SOPs and required internal approval processes._
- _ Being primary point of contact for support to one or more Business Units and/or company functions._
- _ Tracking business conduct issues, and identifying appropriate corrective actions and close-out including process enhancement and addressing identified training needs._
- _ Overseeing FCPA and UK Bribery Act compliance by developing procedures and delivering training (in collaboration with ACE/Global Compliance Teams)._
- _ Ensuring high degree of integration and understanding of context in which business conduct policies and SOPs operate at an Affiliate level and identifies areas of potential risk._
- _ Contributing to the ongoing auditing of corporate and commercial compliance policies and procedures to ensure they appropriately fulfill Gilead Legal and Business Conduct requirements. Supports periodic Business Conduct audits and conducts interim monitoring though job bag audits._
- _ Contributing to multidisciplinary and/or International projects, leads Business Conduct projects, and takes responsibility for Business Conduct aspects of projects._
- At all times bringing good judgment and common sense and offering practical legal solutions to challenges Gilead is facing._
