At Welltech, we strive to be proactive wellness partners for our users, while continually evolving ourselves. **What We're Looking For** We are looking for an experienced **Head of Product Legal and Regulatory Compliance** to lead all legal matters related to product, privacy, consumer protection, and payment regulation. This senior leadership role will partner closely with Product, Engineering and Marketing teams to ensure that our products are not only innovative and user-friendly but also fully compliant with global legal and regulatory standards. **Key Responsibilities**: - Serve as the primary legal advisor for product, engineering, design, growth, and marketing teams. - Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal risks across product development cycles. - Provide practical guidance on US and global privacy laws, consumer protection regulations, and intellectual property rights. - Ensure compliance with payment processing regulations and subscription practices, including recurring billing laws and card network requirements. - Advise on compliance with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rules and enforcement trends affecting consumer products and advertising. - Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on privacy and data handling practices (CCPA, GDPR, etc.). - Lead internal efforts around terms of service, privacy policies, user consents, and product documentation. - Support strategic IP initiatives including trademark, copyright, and licensing matters. - Manage and mentor legal team members or external counsel as needed. - Maintain awareness of legal and industry trends and help drive best practices across the organization. **The ideal profile**: - Law Degree and active license to practice law - 7+ years of legal experience, with a strong background in product counseling, consumer protection, and privacy. - Previous in-house experience at a consumer technology company is required, subscription is a plus. - GDPR, privacy, data protection regulatory experience across jurisdictions. - Deep knowledge of the U.S. regulatory landscape, including FTC regulations and enforcement actions. Deep knowledge of UK and EU regulatory landscape, including GDPR, DMA, and relevant consumer rights. - Experience working on products that process payments and handle subscription billing and compliance. Experience monitoring industry trends and case law updates applicable to consumer technology apps. - Familiarity with IP matters in a tech or digital product context. - Proven ability to lead projects and manage internal stakeholders across departments. - Strong team leadership skills and experience mentoring or managing other legal professionals. - Exceptional judgment, business acumen, and communication skills.
