**About the Role**:
This is a role within the Network Reliability Engineering team. This team is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the TV & Video on Demand network, it’s infrastructure and related systems.

As a result of the ever-developing DTV market and merging broadcast and IP technologies, this position requires an end-to-end understanding of IPTV, EOS/360, Horizon3, D4A, and Interactive Services

The Digital TV engineer will ensure that the services, platforms, portals, and products offering streaming media services and interactive services, are maintained to a high degree of reliability and are optimized, leading to a high service availability.

This role involves an on call rota over a 24 hours, 7 days a week basis.

**Specific Duties & Tasks**:

- Responsible for the 2nd /3rd line support for all of our TV and VoD services
- Responsible for implementing, maintaining, supporting & developing the DTV platform
- Assist and take the lead with trouble-shooting complex production issues
- Drive escalation of technical issues with corporate teams and inter-working with same to ensure speedy resolution
- Pro-actively monitor network performance and implement quality programs in order to improve service availability and performance
- Respond to network disturbances both during office hours and as part of a TV on-call rota
- Implement or assist in system upgrades / corrections if required
- Provide technical assistance in the development/deployment/Acceptance of new services and products as required
- Provide support for incident/crises management process, comply with change and intervention management processes
- Lead on network problem management and drive success
- Keep abreast to technology development and maintain appropriate level of expertise for supported technologies
- Ensure that CDN, NDVR, CUTV services are delivered to subscribers in a reliable and manageable way. To do so, he/she has to make sure that platforms necessary for the service are maintained and operated well
- Act as an intermediary between central affiliates in the trouble shooting and /or analysis of complex issues affecting supportive platforms
- Provide monitoring and service monitoring support to wider DTV & Support teams to help improve overall quality of monitoring in the DTV footprint
- Provide expertise in analysis of major incident root cause and write root cause analysis documents
- Work closely with the NOC/RMC on incidents in the affiliate and provide direct follow-up to Level 3 support and vendor if required. In order to offer excellent support, the E2E system must be known on a high level
- Ensuring clean hand over and acceptance of new DTV and Interactive services platforms from the corporate engineering and delivery teams
- Support the testing and validation in the corporate Labs to validate and confirm bug resolution for new code releases. This includes also reproduction of production reported incidents in the labs
- Provide expertise in analysis of major incident root cause and follow up with vendors and other Corporate teams as needed
- Provide support in deployment phase of new projects to learn and get trained on the job and assist in UAT (User Acceptance Test), TFT (Technical Field Trial) and OFT (Operational Field Trial)
- Review and judge related RFC’s (Requests For Changes) and analyze the impact on the platforms & networks in light of the number of impacted customers
- Work to ensure support on the DTV/Interactive services platforms in order to solve customer impacting incidents within the given SLA timeframe
- Work closely with the NOC department and NMS team to set the requirements for alarm management (alarms being sent from Digital equipment to NOC) on the Digital platforms. Identify priority of alarms
- Take ownership of reporting on incidents.

**Skills & Expertise**:

- 5 + years’ Engineering experience in Telecoms/ISP, Preferably in TV arena
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent working experience
- IP/IPTV working knowledge & experience
