The Fortive/ASP Sales Director key objective will be to optimally tackle the full sales & profitability responsibility for the region as well as the interpersonal leadership of the full ASP team, its distributors and other 3rd party collaborators in the region.
In the role, the leader will also set the cross-functional strategic direction and coordinate results from critical functions, including marketing, market development, training & education, contracting and tenders.
Further the purpose is to ensure that both short
- and long-term business objectives of ASP are met.
The Western Cluster Director works in accordance with all applicable government laws, regulations and ASP policies, procedures and guidelines, this position:
Deliver P&L objectives attaining Sales Revenue, Margin, and Profit targets
Own the short
- and long-term strategy of the business across the region. Ensure oversight (through direct or dotted reporting lines) of regional marketing, B&T and Market Development aligned with overall regional goals
Lead the development and implementation of strategies via marketing, market research, marketing communications, congress, customer and internal education activities
Review and make recommendations to optimize our direct vs in-direct go-to market model in each country
Own the implementation (and adaptation) of business and marketing strategies at the regional and country level, including life cycle management, new product launches and market development strategies
Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and balanced relationships
Plan and carry out sales activities to agreed budgets, sales volumes, values, product mix. Supervise and report on these activities and provide relevant management information
Builds strong and positive relationships with key decision makers and those influential in the purchasing process to improve the ASP Brand and Image
Proactively craft the market environment, working to improve market access and ASP market position through relationships with customers and collaborators (including regulators, government agencies, medical device associations, and others)
Identify business growth opportunities and unmet customer requirements for further development
Development of the Tech Service organization to provide outstanding service while improving opportunity for consumables
Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings with other company functions vital to perform duties and aid business development
Accountable for establishing a hard-working organization that provides a stimulating and motivating work environment passionate about talent development and customer and business objectives
Ensures commercial activities are in compliance with local and company regulations, policies and procedures. Drive a culture of ethical behaviors. Develops and drives a work culture committed to compliance, quality and customer focus
Responsible for presenting business related issues or opportunities to next management level
People Management
Use Fortive/ASP HR tools to identify, attract, cultivate and grow human talent in order to build a strong performance driven team
Builds an atmosphere of partnership within the team
Sets and communicates targets and objectives for each team member
Trains and educates incumbents on Fortive/ASP Mission, products, strategies, tools and processes
Performs other duties as needed
**Qualifications**:
Minimum of 6 years relevant (technical) sales experience in the medical device market
Experience in leading (matrix) teams for a period of minimum 4 years in a multi-cultural international environment
Strong leadership skills and experience in inspiring change processes
Understanding of medical devices would be preferred but is not exclusive
Experience with Process Improvement/Lean operation principles of continuous improvement is helpful
Fluent in English and is required, additional language skills are a plus (Spanish preferred)
Strong interpersonal skills (oral and written) and the ability to use them at several organizational levels
Flexible - able and willing to travel within the EMEA region
Experience with change processes is preferred
